Michael Glass studied at Columbus College of Art and Design. He graduated in 1997 with a BFA in Visual Communications. He works as a full-time web developer in the Miami Valley area. Outside of those duties he operates an art studio in Greenville, Ohio. The studio specializes in commercial illustration and fine art. The driving force behind Michael’s art is exploration. The search for and discovery of true narratives or stories defines his perspective on life. The intent of his work can range from the composition of a simple still life to the search for a deeper undercurrent in social matters. He is forever in a state of learning and pursuing that learning is a role that suits him well. The mediums used in this existential quest are dependent on the subject matter and journey. His inspiration takes many paths. A social or world event can suggest a rough idea for an image. Light traveling across a misty farm field will lend itself to a painting. Beauty is realized in the mundane. Inspiration may also come through a delicious creme-brulee accompanied with cheap bourbon.
